Collapsed Drains

Over the lifetime of a drain, many will encounter cracks and become damaged, some unfortunately even collapsing. In such an event J&F Drainage responds by either repairing or completely replacing collapsed drains.

What Are The Signs Of A Sewer Collapse?

Some of the signs of a collapsed sewer are similar to those of a blocked drain: slow draining fixtures, gurgling sounds and strong sewer odours. However, if you notice any of the following, a sewer collapse may be the root cause of the problem:

  • Problems with more than one fixture: If your drainage problems are affecting all of your fixtures, the cause may be the main sewer line.
  • Sinking ground around your property: Subsistence around your property may be an indicator of a sewer collapse below the ground.
  • Waterlogged soil, or fast growing-grass: Water leaking from a collapsed sewer will cause the ground to become waterlogged. It may also result in a patch of fast-growing grass above the sewer line.
